For Education and Fun

There’s no better place to visit than Cornstown House

"PERFECT FOR balanced fun and education"

With more than 20 years experience, we aim to make everything run as smoothly as possible for you – from your initial booking enquiry to rounding the students back onto the coach at the end of the day.

Here, in this agricultural corner of Dublin the Grysons farm organically. The farm’s main activities involve alpaca trekking and growing ancient cereals. There have been farmers in this area for many centuries and some of the buildings here on Cornstown Farm date back to the time of the Battle of the Boyne.

Gently step back onto a farm that grows its crops using reapers and binders as well as modern machines. As the farm is organic no artificial chemicals or fertilizers are used, ensuring a sustainable template for food production in the future.

Ideal for Primary and Secondary School Learning

Here at Cornstown House, we have experience guiding primary and secondary students around the farm based on their curriculum: from farm to food, to life cycles in Primary School to history, agriculture, business and science in Secondary School, our farmers are on hand to help!

Primary School Visits
Fionnuala is a primary school teacher with many years of experience in the educational sector so we can seamlessly merge education and fun for your primary students.

Secondary School Visits
Dominic has a B. Sc. in general science and a lifetime of experience in agriculture. He has an innate ability to weave the two together and to create a bespoke experience for your group of students. Your group will leave here with a better understanding of how their subject relates to agriculture and , indeed, the world around us. This has taken on new relevance in the new world of sustainability, biodiversity, self-sufficiency, and food security.

Help from the farmers

Many children will be seeing, smelling and hearing farm animals for the first time – an experience we all want them to have in a safe and secure environment.

Cornstown House is a Working Farm that offers a designated Hands On Animal Area where you can get really close to our furry friends.

The Hands On Area is open all day long and permanently manned by our Farmers to help you get the most from your time with the animals. With hand washing facilities, you can be assured that your health and safety is of the utmost importance to us.

Combined with Animal Demonstrations, plenty of baby animals, ancient crops and farm buildings, there’s so much to see and do at Cornstown House.
