Harp Ensemble Extravaganza

Join us at 3pm on Sunday 7th July for an afternoon of harp music by some of the country’s leading harp ensembles.

Fingal Harp Ensemble

Recent highlights of the Fingal Harp Ensemble include playing at their annual end of year concert, for residents at Hillview Nursing Home, previous ‘Music on the Farm’ concert and at Ashbourne Library. The ensemble has also participated in other events such as Lá na Cruite/Harp Day which has been taking place annually in October since 2017. (Lá na Cruite, Harp Day will be celebrated on Saturday 19th October this year. Keep an eye out for more events around country.) They are looking forward to performing at Ensemble Day at An Chúirt Chruitireachta and ‘Music on the Farm’ this June.

 

Bray CCÉ Ensemble

Bray CCÉ Harp Ensemble is a group of young musicians from Wicklow, Ireland. They have extensive experience performing at local and national festivals and events including An Chúirt Chruitireachta International Harp Festival and concerts run by Cairde na Cruite and Cruit Éireann. They also enjoy collaborating with Heart Children Ireland as part of their fundraising initiatives. In 2018 the ensemble performed live on national television with the TU Dublin Harp Ensemble to launch National Harp Day. More recent highlights include Seachtain na Gaeilge and Midsummer Harp Recitals in Bray Library and a performance as part of Music in Monkstown Festival.

Triad Harp Trio

Triad Harp Trio, featuring award-winning harpers Fiona Gryson, Rachel Duffy and Síofra Ní Dhubhghaill, met while studying at TU Dublin Conservatoire. They each enjoy varied careers as performers, researchers and teachers in Dublin, Meath, Wicklow, Wexford and Westmeath. They have performed extensively individually and in various ensembles nationally and internationally and on television and radio. Following their inaugural performance at the Highlanes Gallery, Drogheda as part of An Chúirt Chruitireachta 2021, recent performance highlights include performing at the inaugural Smithfield Fleadh, the Cornstown House ‘Music on the Farm’ concert series, TU Dublin Conservatoire Lunchtime concerts and at the National Gallery of Ireland. Triad have also featured in CÉHI’s Lá na Cruite | Harp Day, St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and their ’12 Days of Christmas’ series. The trio performed as members of the TU Dublin Conservatoire Harp Ensemble at the World Harp Congress in Cardiff, Wales.

 

TU Dublin Conservatoire Harp Ensemble

The TU Dublin Conservatoire Harp Ensemble is one of the most active ensembles in TU Dublin Conservatoire of Music and Drama performing classical, Irish and contemporary repertoire under the direction of Rachel Duffy and Fiona Gryson and previously under the direction of Denise Kelly McDonnell and Clíona Doris. The ensemble is also grateful for the guidance of Gráinne Hambly who has taught the ensemble many of her and William Jackson’s arrangements. TU Dublin Conservatoire Harp Ensemble has performed at the Edinburgh Harp Festival, the Welsh Harp Festival, RDS Rising Stars Series, RTÉ Reflecting the Rising Festival, Brian Boydell Centenary Conference and for HRH The Prince of Wales in Hillsborough Castle and for President Michael D. Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin.
